很多中国基督徒曾经喜欢你，美国也有很多基督徒支持你。
不仅因为你的直率、敢于表达，
更因为你曾让许多人觉得：
你或许会是一个不愿轻易发动战争的人。
你曾为自己执政期间没有发起新的战争而骄傲。
很多人，也因此对你充满期待。
可如今，中东再次陷入炮火。
太多人在战争中失去生命。
无论他们属于哪个国家、哪种信仰，
那些死去的人，原本都只是一个个普通人。
他们也有家人。
也有人在等他们回家。
我知道，政治世界里有复杂的博弈、安全、利益与立场。
每一个国家，也都有自己的国家利益需要维护。
但对于普通人来说，战争从来都不是一串数字。
每一个伤亡数字后面，
都是真实的人生。
我并不站在哪个国家的立场去指责你。
我只是感到难过。
因为曾经有很多人相信：
你会成为那个尽量避免战争的人。
一个真正伟大的领导者，
不只是让自己的国家强大，
也应该努力减少这个世界的眼泪。
真正强大的国家，
不只是拥有强大的武器，
也应该拥有对生命的尊重、克制与珍惜。
因为无论是伊朗人、以色列人、中国人，还是美国人，
在痛苦面前，我们其实都是一样的人类。
这个世界已经有太多仇恨了。
也有太多人，在彼此攻击中慢慢失去了爱与理解。
我始终认为：
真正伟大的文明，
应该努力让更多普通人能够平静地生活，
而不是让越来越多的家庭在战争中流泪。
愿未来的世界领导者们，
都能够更加尊重和平，尊重生命。
愿有一天，
这个世界不再需要用战争证明力量。

An Open Letter to Mr. Trump
Mr. Trump, hello.
I am an ordinary woman from China.
Many Chinese Christians once liked you, and many American Christians supported you as well.
Not only because of your directness and willingness to speak openly,
but also because many people believed that:
you might be someone who would not easily start wars.
You once took pride in the fact that no new wars were launched during your presidency.
Because of that, many people placed great hope in you.
But now, the Middle East has once again fallen into the flames of war.
Too many people have lost their lives.
No matter what country they belong to,
or what faith they believe in,
those who died were first and foremost ordinary human beings.
They also had families.
There were people waiting for them to come home.
I understand that the political world is filled with complicated struggles, security concerns, interests, and different positions.
Every nation also has its own national interests to protect.
But for ordinary people, war is never just a number.
Behind every casualty,
there is a real human life.
I am not writing to condemn you from the standpoint of any country.
I simply feel saddened.
Because many people once believed
that you would be someone who tried to avoid war whenever possible.
A truly great leader
does not only make his own country stronger,
but should also strive to reduce the tears of this world.
A truly strong nation
is not only one that possesses powerful weapons,
but also one that shows respect for life, restraint, and compassion.
Because whether they are Iranian, Israeli, Chinese, or American,
in the face of suffering, we are all human beings.
There is already too much hatred in this world.
Too many people have slowly lost love and understanding through endless attacks against one another.
I have always believed that:
a truly great civilization
should strive to allow more ordinary people to live in peace,
rather than allowing more and more families to weep because of war.
May the leaders of the future
show greater respect for peace and for life.
And may there come a day
when humanity no longer needs war to prove strength.
